A Current Thought...

Thoughts, energetics, and other ramblings from me to you. Enjoy!

What Field Are You Part Of.....?

How can you, how would you, pass on the energy of the following message..... Consider the possibilities.

With all the communication going on around us, all this vibration from technology and its frequencies, it's a wonder we keep forgetting that we too, as humans, vibrate. We actually do vibrate, under the law of physics. There is even electricity in our bodies. "Higher vibration" does have a spiritual sense to it, but also a physical sense too.

When you are aware of this, it takes on additional meaning in the world of spirituality and healing. In this context, abilities are never talents until they are mixed with wisdom. Knowledge moves into understanding. And "vested interest" is for the common good. As more and more people become "aware" we can choose to frequent certain uplifting style. That's "frequent" as in "frequency." As in vibration. As in reputation.

Prayer links us. Service to others links us. And in a complex world, simplicity, and spontaneous kindness make all the difference in the world. The message coming off this screen sets up a vibration that creates a space. Such a space replaces so many choices that are causing pain, disconnection, suffering and high costs due to compensation and recovery. To be part of such a "space" has nothing to do with groups or organizations, or connections. It has to do with choice, a healthy sense of self, a belief and knowingness that one matters, and that one can make a difference. This too is part of "spiritual mechanics", the nature of how spirituality functions.

I recently saw in the obituary of a young man who had been beset with unspoken conditions which, as it appeared from his picture, seemed to be akin to cerebral palsy, perhaps more. Frederic's family and friends, or even he himself, had arranged that at the bottom of the announcement of his passing, there was the phrase.....

In his memory, see if you could find a loving gesture towards someone in need.

Amen. And taking that to heed, and acting upon it, creates a ripple with the vibration that creates a field, which moves outward, and further out..... If you take up that challenge, know that you are contributing to a field of energy, understand that you are contributing to that field, and take satisfaction that you are seen and felt as contributing to that field. Find out what it feels like to go forward and act upon this matter, now with a more conscious knowingness of the field you are strengthening. If you wish, let me know what happens.... J.

Holding a workshop in the Victorian-era court house in Ottawa last month proved to be more evidence of the ease by which people can slide into their understanding of their surroundings.

Here we had a site dating back to the 1860s which had witnessed a wide spectrum of human drama, from the fraud trail of a Member of Parliament in the 1880s to the trial and nearby hanging of the fellow convicted in Canada's first political assassination in 1868.

But the site has now become Arts Court -- a multi-faceted facility supporting theatre, dance, the visual arts, drumming, instruction, productions and displays. So, you can find a children's drama school in one of the courtrooms, and discover a thought-provoking multi-media display expressing the power of thought and atmosphere -- in the basement.

Haunted? What we do to ourselves in the year 2005 is indeed spooky, no doubt forming an imprint that will fascinate those who come after us (is that a double meaning?) But, as we experienced during our day-long sharing of fun and exploration, we too can and do leave imprints. It's always going on, all the time. So, we decided to leave an imprint that will help others.

We did encounter a ghost, not that this was our focus. It is amazing what happens when "At Play With Working Together" takes hold. One participant expressed amazement at how the ghost we encountered conveyed he would not leave unless his buddy was taken care of -- a former Ottawa priest long used to caring for prisoners -- was assured that his charges would be helped and taken care of. So moving was the prisoner's concern for this priest from the same era, that we were left with something deep to ponder. And we certainly took time to celebrate our role in making a difference.

Field Trips are fun too, especially the spontanous kind. At noon, we were entertained unexpectedly by a guy with a BIG aura after we decided upon the choice of a clean and fun "greasy spoon" restaurant as our spot for lunch. What (we asked the owner) was the difference between a restaurant full of patrons such as his and the Grade 8 classes he taught in his other job? Not much. Pass the ketchup and enjoy your presence.

We'll be reconvening for another session for sure.

~ Living and Loving -- That We Are All Connected

How much do you know of the person who is working next to you in the office? What will become of them? What have they been through? What are they facing? And how, at a very deep place, are they similar to YOU? To whom are they connected?

When the late Pope John Paul II greeted me in the library of his private apartments at the Vatican in 1980, he was only two years into his historic pontificate. I was only 24 years old. He did not know that he would face an attempted assasination. I did not know that trips to Poland, Germany, England and Egypt awaited me. He did not know that he would face Parkinson's Disease. I did not know that the cerebral palsy with which I was born would fell me at the age of 35 and rob me of my fine motor skills with the sudden onset of a disorder called Dystonia.

I was astonished by the experience of passing through the protection of the Pope's Swiss Guards and up the marble staircase to the pontiff's residence. He, in turn, forever kept in his memory the thrill of boating along Ottawa's historic Rideau Canal in the city where I live, and he would repeatedly refer to it over the years.

Such is the thrill of experience.

"JP2" as some would come to call him, refused to closet the condition that challenged him later in life. Instead he asked that it shine as an example of what those with neurological conditions face. His suffering did not mask the real man, the one with the handshake grip and twinkle in his eye I will alway remember.

Upon hearing a few years later that I was getting married, he sent off a telegram of blessings from the Vatican to my wife and myself, and a rosary for Kathy.

He would ask that any concern for him or prayers for him ought to also be directed to people you do NOT know of. Pray also for a woman in Australia who has cancer whom you will never meet, or a boy in Utah who is confused, or a shopkeeper in China having a difficult time. The same change in consciousness that saw the world shift to St. Peter's upon the earthly departure of John Paul II can cause a shift each day -- a special shift -- in our daily lives.

Whether The Holy Father greeted myself or Billy Graham or Ronald Reagan or Jean Chretien, he treated all as equal. Mine is just one of hundreds of thousands of stories connected to one man. And his humour was wonderful.

Go into a corner of your life and make a difference as he did, as he would, and as he will continue to do.

Around the corner of your life is a new meeting, a new experience, a new chance to make a difference. Build on those today so that as life unfolds you can be overcome by gratitude. God knows of your kindness.

~ A friend of mine in Ireland recently emailed me the story of US combat pilot Charles Plumb, who was shot down during the Vietnam War and spent six years in captivity; he now speaks about the ordeal as a learning experience. One day, he was approached in a restaurant by an excited man who declared that he had been the sailor onboard the aircraft carrier who had actually packed Charles' parachute that fateful day. Had that parachute not opened properly, the ordeal would have ended right there.

We in the West are so bombarded by choice and options, or enticements or cellphone beckonings, that we often fail to realize just how lucky we are, and just how connected we ALL are ALL the time. Did you manufacture your own automobile? Did you package all your own food? Did you ensure you have clean drining water coming out of the tap? Did you get your electricity to your home? Did you manufacture the medical equipment that might be needed for you later? Did you make your clothes?

We really do get into twists and turns over nothings at times. If we stop and think about it, what would many of us do without drama? We love it so much we pay people to write scripts about it, and bring together production crews and actors to manufacture it artificially. My wife came home recently shaking her head over public abuse a young man heaped upon his "girlfriend", if one can use that term to someone you behave that way with. Some lives.

Fact is, we can and often do create marvelous drama that is uplifting. We consciously know ourselves to be that sailor in the bowels of a ship doing something that makes a difference. And the sailor had the consciousness to notice the identification associated with parachute handling. Otherwise he would probably not have known about Plumb at all. And he would not have jumped for joy in learing what had happened that fateful day.

Speaking of flying, before I go, I would like to share a life moment with you. On Canada day in 2001, my wife and I took an out-of-town vistor eager to see Ottawa to the National Aviation Museum. Always one for a bit of adventure in spite of some of the adventures I have had, I could not resist the opportunity to "go up" with a retired brigadier-general who was taking passengers in his two-seater Chipmunk aircraft. So there I was, seated behind him in this trainer. The only aircraft in the vicinity up in the sky were The famed Canadian Forces Snowbirds team, a visiting American stealth bomber, and....ME. Which of three brings more terror to your heart? Thanks.

We chatted among ourselves on the radio, all these pilots, and that was..cool, as older fogies such as me would say. Our plane flew down the majestic Ottawa River east of Parliament Hill. In a bit of mischief that could no longer be tolerated in this post-9/11 age, my host decided on the return run to swoop down Wellington Street [for those of you from elsewhere the main thoroughfare where you find the Supreme Court, the National Archives, Parliament Hill, the Prime Minister's Office etc.]. It being Canada Day, a large crowd on the Hill looked up as we made our pass. I was then permitted to take the controls, although even my seasoned host thought it prudent that he should control the landing.

A few days later, I hosted one of my group gatherings at our home, talking about energy. News shared all around included someone's comment about seeing this plane on Canada day, so low you could practically see the pilots. I have never since held such an internal grin. Always wave, it might be someone you know. And when you have a job to do, do so as you keep in mind the wider consequences of your actions. Create stories that uplift!

~ What Are the Colour of Your Expectations?
One of the most common uses of the word "expectant" has to do with waiting for the baby to arrive, as in "expectant mother," "expectant father" or "expectant parents." That's definitely a context that is creative, perhaps a bit aprehensive, but certainly very often tinged with hope, excitement perhaps, and the thought of something new in many ways, even if it does not refer to the first birth in a household.

In contrast, many people are raised to refer to expectations as judgements, upon themselves or upon others. "I would have expected more from you!" was a phrase that a friend of mine uttered when he and I were simply exploring the energy around the word. It sure struck a chord in him, and -- don't we all know it -- likely a very OLD one indeed. The energy "traffic" around expectations as judgements is very heavy and conjested.

Even the shift between "expectant" -- early [perhaps VERY early] Christmas morning -- and "expecting" -- "I've been expecting you for the past half hour!" makes such a difference. Practice feeling what happens around you when you feel expectant, or invite the atmosphere around you to enjoy that feeling. A bit of a buzz you'll get. Then try wandering through "expecting" energy. Any votes for that one? :-)

A buddy with whom I was having that conversation reported that he could sense different colours around him when he realized just how heavy we have made the term "expecting" The colours changed from a dark blue with red in it, he said, when we started talking about "expectant" He said the atmosphere turned brighter, with some orange in it. One can remain expectant that quick and subtle understanding of this spreads every time we make a change. Perhaps you'll come across an instance in your life in which this distinction helps you out and proves to be absolutely poifect.

~ A Nod About Blockages, and the Alternative of Release
Language is a key element in how we create and hold ourselves and each other. How we hold each other in boxes of thought, in concepts and in realities. Anyone on the lookout for exchanges that are more fun, that are quicker, more uplifting and far more simple is, in my mind, truly a talented person when it comes to working with energy.

Many who have explored their relationship with energy and healing over the past years have encountered the notion of energy blockages -- in our thoughts, our bodies, our auras and our perceptions. When repeated time after time in groups, in exchanges, in workshops and in teachings, the notion of blockages can itself take over the picture. It can actually block the introduction of more fun, ease and joy. Bodies seem to gravitate gently to the notion that energy that has been built up can be released rather than worked on.

The body minutely responds to the difference between blockages as compared to the idea of releasing. Even the word releasing can seem more gentle than a subtle but important distinction compared to the phrase "letting go." To be sure, many talented medical intuitives or other readers can gain an accurate reading about the state of affairs in and around a body. For energy work to be exquisite, it is crucial not only to be accurate about a reading, but wise in one's interpretation and uplifting in one's reaction -- what one does after a reading.

We ought to remember and take satisfaction in the fact that the body feels intent so easily, so readily, and so deeply. I invite you to feel and see, and to sense and notice what happens when your language speaks of releases of energy rather than blockages, and speaks and shares about the blossoming of abilities rather than what has blocked progress. It's a simple notion but one with a solid foundation. It works because you matter. You matter in the substance of what life is all about, and you matter in the influence you have upon it.
